ok so this bar, where this is not thing is...
it kind of sucks*.
never heard me say that? that something sucked? well it does.
and im quite easy going...

it was partially designed by the owners and also the designer of honky tonks.
but it sucks*. the basins in the girls toilets permanently look like someone threw up in them...need i say more.

never-the-less, is not doesnt suck. so i might stretch myself and go... just maybe. hooray for is not's issue 5, i look forward to reading it on my adventures.

pretty letters and sideways...

ahh yes always with the 'sorry ive got something else on' anyone else?
i did hear this though;
"there will be sake and Japanese nibblies available at gold coin cost and beautiful calligraphic masterpieces to decorate you abodes"

big girls dont cry...

but boys do.
this looks like a very beautiful exhibition, even though there seems to be heavy reference (reverence?) to bill henson.
keep your eyes out for Tin...

uumm...lets get personal

so ive been avoiding this for a while,
is it problematic to be anonymous?

should i come out and just tell you what i do on the weekends,
and who i love, and who i hang out with?

should i start one of those real blog things where you write about stuff,
not just about where you go and what bands you see and what art you like?

they say writing is cathartic...
ill see. stay tuned. or something.

this post will remain nameless, due to the risk of sounding too enthusiatic

recently i was telling a lovely person of whom i cant really remember...
that one of the best gigs i saw last year was jens lekman
which i rememer fondly and vividly.

the highlight of the show at manchester lane last year
(other than watching him put his hand down his shirt to do the heart action to 'bom bom ba bom ba bom ba bom' in hamer hill, like dick van dyke does in mary poppins)
was watching jens pull the lead out from his ukelele to step into the crowd to do a 'a cappela/acoustic' version of a swedish lullabye his mum used to sing him.
apart from the teary eyed girls in the crowd (i had something in my eye...i swear) when his lover got up to play bass, the gig was flawless,
charming and at times painfully beautiful.

go!

NSC
JENS LEKMAN (Sweden) with special guest
Sat 11 March (Doors 9.30) $32+bf – on sale Mon 16th Jan

p.s. this time he is playing a full band, not his ukelele and ibook.

i think i just saw...

i think i just saw 'the bedroom philosopher'
in a convertible saab
with three tanned young ladies,
he had his collar on his jacket pulled up around his
face though....

was it
a. to stop the car fumes on nicholson st penetrating his lungs
b. to avoid being seen with his ladies
c. to avoid being ambushed by unyeilding fans
d. it wasnt him at all
